Rajapaksa Should Address The Nation Denouncing The Anti-Muslim Campaign And Its Sponsors

March 7, 2013

By Jayantha Dhanapala and Professor Savitri Goonesekere

President Mahinda Rajapaksa,

President of Sri Lanka,

Presidential Secretariat,

Janadhipathi Mawatha,

Colombo 1.

7th March 2013.

Anti-Muslim Hate Campaign: The Government Must Act Decisively

Dear President Rajapaksa,

The Friday Forum urges you to act immediately and decisively to counter the increasingly venomous and strident anti-Muslim hate campaign launched by a few extremist groups claiming to represent the majority Sinhala community.

As you are aware, this campaign has intensified over the past several months. The country has witnessed attacks against mosques, and the circulation, on social media, public posters and web-sites, of obscene and vituperative messages that are offensive to religious beliefs. It has witnessed anti-Muslim public rallies and processions, including a call to boycott Muslim business establishments.

Mahara mosque – 03rd March Mahara mosque – vandalised

Mahara mosque – vandalised

In any situation in which there are efforts to incite communal tensions, the primary responsibility of removing such threats and reassuring the community under attack is with the government. The people elect the President and other representatives in the expectation that they will ensure an environment in which all citizens can live assured of their human rights including equality, personal security, dignity and religious freedom. Failure of a government to provide this is a serious breach of its responsibilities and has, in the past, had tragic consequences for our country and our people.

In a plural society hate campaigns against a specific community must be taken very seriously by the government and the people and viewed in the wider context of our historical, sociological, economic and foreign policy realities. The possibility of violence against a particular community, and the dangers of ethnic cleansing are very real. The horrors of the 1983 ethnic riots constantly remind us how human life and personal security mean nothing, when there is incitement to communal violence and hatred. Hate campaigns inevitably result in a deep sense of fear and vulnerability among members of the targeted community, giving rise to a fear psychosis. Such a situation not only deeply harms that community, but also imbues a whole society with suspicion and propensity to communal violence.

We welcome that you clearly spoke against those who incite communal intolerance at the recent Independence Day celebrations held in Trincomalee. Yet, the government headed by you has not up to now taken decisive and concrete measures to stem the current hate campaign or to reassure the Muslim community of its rightful place in our society. This is difficult to understand in light of your own assurances and that of the government on the urgent need to forge a lasting peace after ending the destruction and suffering of thirty years of fratricidal war.

The silence of the government, and a mute response in the face of the hate campaign against the Muslim community, particularly through the misuse of media is a violation of both national and international law, Such misuse sometimes justified as respect for freedom of speech and expression only encourages those who incite communal disharmony and violence. The government has recently decided to prohibit sterilization programmes for consenting adults undermining family planning and reproductive health policies that conform to national public health and treaty commitments. This decision, while unacceptable in itself, can also be perceived by the public as concession to the anti-Muslim lobbies.

The aggressive assertion of identity by any community creates tensions in a pluralistic society. If there are problems over issues related to any religious group, for instance, the recent “halal” certification issue, these need to be looked into dispassionately and responsibly after careful verification of the facts. The public must also be provided with accurate information with a view to defusing and not exacerbating tensions.

We urgently call on you as elected Head of State to address the nation denouncing the current anti-Muslim campaign and its sponsors and detailing the measures the government will take to deal with the hate campaign against Muslims. Only such steadfast and resolute action, rising above narrow identity politics, can safeguard the peace and further an environment of communal harmony and security in our country.

Assalamu alaikum,

It cannot be understood why Brother Nazim too chose this moment to refer to the  the investment issue concurring with the BBS. The  two issues are related. Bro. Nazim  has misquoted saying that the ACJU participated in the said TNL discussion. ACJU did  not participate in the discussion but some other Moulavis did so in their personal capacity. The Secretary of  the BBS referred to the investment issue to  ridicule the Ulemas and make them to withdraw from their stance on the Halal Certification issue. Are Bro. Nazim and the likes are forgetting that the Halal Certification is only one of the many issues the BBS is raising in its wide Anti-Muslim Campaign? Are they not betraying the interest of the  community in concurring with  the BBS? Bro. Nazim himself, being a well knowledgeable person in Islamic Teachings, while lecturing and writing about them, continued to be a Insurance  Professional when the Insurance itself is haram. Will Bro. Nazim blame the ACJU for misleading him as  well. If there  was anything wrong that has been done by the ACJU on the investment matter it should have been pointed out to  them then directly. Why make it a public  matter when the ACJU is targetted by Anti-Muslim elements to undermine the existence of the whole Muslim community.

Is The Jamiathul Ulama A Bane On The Muslims Of Sri Lanka

March 6, 2013 |

By M. Zulkifli Nazim –

M. Zulkifli Nazim

On 12th February 2013, at the TNL studios, where the debate between the Bodu Bala Sena and the representatives of the Jamiathul Ulama, the General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena, Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, a very significant and valid remark was made, which caught the attention of the general public, where he referred to a specific financial problem faced by the Muslim community as  a result of them depositing their hard earned monies and life-savings with the Ceylinco Profit Sharing & Investment Corporation Ltd., (This includes the Ceylinco Global Profit Sharing & Investment Corporation too) where the members and representatives of the All-Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama (ACJU)  were in the so-called Shariah Council and who are visibly missing from the scene now.  Where is the “halaal” aspect of this deception and what have they got to say now? He asked.

A statement very valid and well grounded in logic.

I would like to contribute something further to this.  When Ceylinco Profit Sharing and the Ceylinco Global Profit Sharing had their opening ceremonies to open their offices as well as their branches in various locations the main people on stage and who preached, spoke, encouraged and advocated to invest in these companies, were the members and representatives of the All-Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama (ACJU).

The majority of the Muslims generally and especially those in remote areas, did not know of Lalith Kotelawala, the Chairman, they did not know who K.A.S. Jayatissa, the Deputy Chairman was, but they knew and placed their full reliance and trust on the members and representatives of this All-Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama whom they respected and believed without any doubt whatsoever, that these sacred and religious personalities will not represent this institution if there is anything wrong with it.

That was the confidence and faith the Muslim community had.

The majority of those who had invested were poor people and retired persons who had invested their life savings so that they may be able to get some returns for their survival.  What did the members and representatives of the All-Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama do?  The first thing they did was to obtain personal loans to the tune of millions of rupees, compromising their position as members of the so-called Shariah Council.

It looks as if though they lured the unsuspecting Muslim community and those of other communities to deposit in this disastrous and chaotic institution for them to obtain their loans.  We too ask the same question from the representatives of the All-Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama, what the Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero asked. Vis-à-vis – The ACJU who are talking of halaal certificates, can they tell us how they were able to deceive the community at large, who had placed their trust in this supposed organization of religious scholars?  Is this attitude and behavior which had caused so much misery to hundreds of people come within the ambit of the doctrine of halaal and halaal certificates?

The Monthly tabloid of the Muslim community in Sri Lanka, “Al-Islam”, in their December 2012-January 2013 issue had written an open letter, calling for explanation and challenging the President, of the All-Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama, Rizwi Mufthi, on this issue, which had disastrously affected the Muslim Community financially and mentally.  He remains silent to this day.

It is quite apparent, what the members and representatives of the All-Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama had done, was to involve themselves with these companies in the Ceylinco Group in aiding and abetting this fraud plotted against the communities at large, where they benefited the most.  Therefore, it follows that it is not only the two companies of the Ceylinco group who are to be censured severely, it is the members and representatives of the All-Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama who had been the principal element in instituting this fraud too should be taken to task, berated and chided socially and legally for enticing and tempting the incognizant and unsuspecting members of the community, who are in dire straits today.

We can conclude without hesitation that the main cause and problems facing the Muslim Community in Sri Lanka today, is because, whatever the All-Ceylon Jamiathul Ulama (ICJU) did.  They went overboard, to extremes and naturally there has been a backlash and an adverse reaction to both political and social scenarios.  The repercussions created an explosive surge targeting the Muslim Community and they are still, unbelievably, very dogged about it.

Sri Lanka Foreign Minister Gamini Lakshman Peiris began a three-day formal visit in Israel on Monday that reflects strengthening ties between the two countries.

During his stay, he will meet with President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Intelligence Affairs Minister Dan Meridor.

Israel and Sri Lanka renewed diplomatic ties in 2000, and reportedly have a robust military relationship.

What are the connection between the visit of Sri Lanka FM to Israel and the attacks on Muslims in SL?

An organisation called COSMOS-UK was formed last year, following the Dambulla Issue and it represents 17 Sri Lankan Muslim Organisations in UK; it acts as an umbrella organisation for Sri Lankan Muslims Issues in UK.

COSMOS also represents ulemas, solicitors, journalists, businessmen, mosque trustees, social activist, etc.

The good news is COSMOS is very dynamic and it keeps in touch with leading Muslim organisations in Sri Lanka and here in UK.

COSMOS needs appreciations as it approach this issue with great responsibility and care, having understood the root causes and ground situation in Sri Lanka.

It is important for all Sri Lankan Muslims living in foreign countries not to be emotional, rather do something constructive.

·         Any initiatives taken should not harm the reputation and safety of Muslims in Sri Lanka

·         No action should damage the aspiration of Sri Lanka (LHRC and its effect)

·         Do not be too much emotional but be active

Our faith is all about peace and justice;  we shouldn’t forget that BBS represents very minority (sometime, with paid individuals). And any of our activities should not be an advertisement for BBS in foreign land.

Alhamdulillah, COSMOS conducted an interfaith program in Harrow to commemorate 65th independent day of Sri Lanka last month and COSMOS also met High Commissioner Dr. Chris to discuss the current situation in Sri Lanka; the meeting was scheduled for half an hour but it lasted for nearly one an half an hour. End of the meeting, High Commissioner promised participants to inform Foreign Ministry about  the meeting and requests  by COSMOS.

Here in UK, Alhamdulillah Muslim community is well aware of ground situation but faith in discussion and diplomatic approach is not lost.

Salams,
Any protest condemning Bodu Bala Sena within Sri Lanka may end up  in ethnic violence, we all aware of it but, why there is not even a single organized mass peaceful protest against religious hatred and Bodu Bala Sena outside Sri Lanka?
If BBS can stage 100s of unjustifiable/hatred natured protests within Sri Lanka, why we haven’t seen any mass peaceful protests in UK, Australia, USA and elsewhere to show our unity and legitimate power?
Yes, at the moment what we need are tolerance, respect, coexistence etc., but BBS taking our underdog situation to high-school type bullying. We should stage peaceful mass protests outside Sri Lanka. We need resistance in peaceful way to expose BBS to rest of the world.

Proposed Islamic TV Programme – My view

Monday, 17 October, 2011 5:29 AM
From:
 Dear Brother Sameer,
Wa-alaikumussalam.

While forwarding this mail to my friends, I would like to share some of my thoughts with you on the 23-minute TV programme you are planning to have it on the Eye Channel.  Yes it is the need of the hour in view of the current state of affairs prevailing in Sri Lanka affecting the Muslim community here.

As you say the the programme intended has to be focussed mainly to the hate campaigners.  But why cannot it be through our own individual Channel and why it should be done through one of the government channels.

For instance, the twin channels Shakthi and MTV run by a deep-rooted Tamil business organization in the country have become powerful ones and their views have a say at highest level.  They vigorously promote and portray their culture, religion, political views etc. vividly and forcefully.

Why cannot a Muslim entrepreneur/s come forward to establish a Muslim tri-lingual Channel (a kind of local Al-Jazeera) on the lines of Shakthi and MTV.   The international channel Al-jezeera   has crept into the drawing rooms of the diehard Westerners and made a deep impact into their thinking.

I suggest you approach the Muslim business giants like Expo Lanka, Amana Bank, Brandix, Nolimit, Emerald or PC House and convince them to start an exclusive Channel to address our issues intelligently interspersed with other programmes within the limits of Islamic moralities.  The Channel need not have a Muslim identity.   You can choose a name like Concord TV, Unity TV, Public TV, People’s TV or any other name on a common theme.

Why only Mufthis Yusoof Haniffa, Sheikh Akram, Rizwie  for advice and why not one time Jamia Naleemiya Rector Dr Shukri, Muslim university Professors and Lecturers. Why is it exclusively in English and why cannot it be trilingual. Then there are fine Islamic scholars in Tamil.

Hope you will seriously consider my suggestion.

Regards,

Ameerally

Wanted: A Local AL-Jazeera

Monday, 3 October, 2011 2:16 AM
From:
“Ameerally” seenameer@gmail.com

I still wonder why our Muslim Businessmen cannot think of establishing a local “Al-Jazeera”.  Only that will expose to the world and the diplomatic community stationed in Sri Lanka the actual plights of Muslims in Sri Lanka.  Sadly, no initiative was taken towards this constructive line by any of our community-concerned local businessmen.  The so-called Shakthi TV and FM has eroded into our religion and culture.  This is the only way I believe, we can address our grievances to the world in general and other Sri lankan communities in particular.

I propose some islam Jihadists – such as Mr. Latheef Farook(sanagency@yahoo.com), Dr Marina Reffai(Dr.Reffai@gmail.com), and Dr Lukman Thalib(lthalib@hsc.edu.kw) must get together and make a plan to fool kafirs in Sri Lanka through TV programs ect, so that they will never see our invasion on them untill it is too late for them.

I did study the subject and wrote and extensive article bringing this issue to limelight.
See the plight of the community. I was severely criticised, insulted, humilated and threatened by  few Muslims  who demanded my apology  .
This is the sad plight of the community.Muslims are passing through a very  dangerous period.Unless they open their eyes  it is going be very dangerous as both powerful foreign forces and local  racists are involved in this campaign.
However always keep in mind that Muslims had passed through several phases like this in their history here in Sri Lanka. All what we need to do is to pin our faith in Allah and take precautionary measures .

This is a sensitive issue. Yes, we have to take precaution on this issue. We should  take constructive measure to counter this menace . one of the best ways is to internationalise  this issue :More importantly, Islamic countries should interfere on this issues.  We could fool Sinhalsese for the last 1400 years but it looks like we have hard time doing it anymore.   anti-Muslim sentiment is increasing in Srilanka due to our Islamic open invasions of Buddhists Sites in Sri Lanka, Latest one was our Dafthar Jailani invasion on ancient Kuragala site. Everybody including us knows it is a fake story. Buddhists come to know this sooner or later. We will be fucked up beyond all recognizion when everybody in Sri Lanka gets concerned over our Islamic invasions. I suggestwe must kill kafirs selectively through nice trick like ‘Grease Devil’ feast we had for last Ramadan to terrorize Sinhalese.

so what are we going to do? sit tight until  all the Muslim business people -specially the small  business people –  suffer the loss? We must do something to stop this trend. the best is to have TV programs to hide the invasions we do on ancient Buddhist sites with supports we get from Islam countries. We must go for the fooling of common Sinhala people. otherwise the sinhalese will cause havoc in this small island Allah created only for Muslims.

Our Fucking Islamists do all the bad things to these Sinhalese and we must be ready to pay the prices. This is awful and  I will leave Islam soon out of disgust to my own faith.

With regard to the facts, I had said :

Overall, the emphasis here, you will kindly appreciate, is on the Rule of Law.
Other interesting observations, if I may, are :
(1) if as stated, there are thousands of illegal buildings of muslims, the rule of law will safeguard these against being  vandalised.  Thus allowing the due process of law to take its course.
(2) if as stated, houses have been built illegally by muslims – I am thinking if  these can be condoned in the eyes of the law – muslims or whoever ?
Having said the above in passing, I reiterate that our focus should be on the main issue – The Rule of Law.

yes but first of all we must be in the right. If the building was in fact an illegal one then we have no right to talk! who demolished is secondary.  let’s find out whether it is in fact an illegal one before putting our feet in our mouths and making things worse.

there are thousands of buildings , specially houses built by Muslims which are illegal, such as those in Mabole.  trying to protest about one small masjid, we may end up with thousands evicted.
Let us not be hasty, but think carefully before taking any action.

Why don’t we bring this to the notice of Mr Gotabay who advice us not to take law in our hand when we protest against the vandalism of greesman.

I agree with Mass Usuf. Muslims in Sri Lanka adopt  n lakadaisical atittitude when their rights are attacked. We should assert  our rights. Not approach our issues with a ‘minority mentality’. Muslim politicians should be urged to take up our matters with the responsible authorities as a matter of right and not to compromise. Peace cannot be achieved if one community, because of its large number,  intrudes and usurps the  rights   of the other people. Of course it is  a few who resort to such unlawful acts, but it is history in Sri Lanka that a few misleads and the others follow. This happened in relation to the Tamil as well, consequences of which the country suffered enough and finds it difficult to establish peace and harmony/

  1. To promote and encourage the participation of Muslim lawyers in Sri Lanka in forging inter –communal harmony and in nation building and the development of Sri Lanka.

So, now, here is a chance.  Muslim lawyers and the Muslim Lawyers Association after studying the case should take up this issue with the courts, if appropriate.  A lackadaisical approach will not help.  Resigning one’s self to fate in the face of such incidents will not help.  This is not a matter of religion but a matter of protecting the Rule of Law of the country which is beneficial to all religions and all communities.

Assalamu Alaikum,
What is the story behind this demolition. Is it true?
A group of Buddhists have demolished a mosque near the Dakshina Seya in Anuradhapura, where the ashes of King Dutugemunu are laid to rest.

Buddhists led by Sinhala Ravaya National Organization as well several Buddhist organizations including the Baudda Arakshaka Padanama and the Dhamma Vijaya Padanama had committed this action.

They say that the mosque is an illegal establishment.

Can we Translate Qurban as Sacrifice?

Wednesday, 14 September, 2011 1:20 PM
From:
“tuan jassim” bindayyan@yahoo.com

This is going to be more explosive in time to come, that is for sure.We had one whole year from last Haj, to prepare an action plan and nothing was done. So much for our community’s alertness.
As someone involved in Da’awa I had a strange dialogue with young person last year immediately after Haj. That person had come to discuss about Qurban, and what ever I explained did not register in that person’s mind. The repeated question was “Why sacrifice?”  which kept echoing in my ears. After one week of deep thinking, it dawned on me that it is the word sacrifice that trigger the emotions.
The word Qurban cannot be translated in another language the same as Salat or Zakat. The English word is sacrifice while in Tamil language it is “Aruththu Paliyidungal.” But is this what is meant by Qurban?? What happens in a non-Muslim place of worship is sacrifice – blood sacrifice. Are we doing it? No. We are killing the animal to eat its meat, pronouncing the name of Allah, as we do before starting any other activity, ie. startig a car, switching on the computer, setting out from home, opening the door etc.
It is the same as taking a fish and puting it on dry land. No one sacrifice a fish. They just kill the fish to eat. When this was explained the pain and anguish of the other person diminished and Al Hamdhu Lillah that person is a Muslim today.
This incident may sound inappropriate here, but I brought up this matter to show that when we talk to non-Muslims about Islamic religious obligation we should differentiate between blood sacrifice and killing for food. We have a right for our food, don’t we? It is the same as we have a right to refuse pork.
2. All the killings should not be done on the very day of Eid ul Ad’ha. It is allowed to stretch it for 3 days. So, the Imams should not insist that animals be killed on festival day. There will be less rush, and less prominence. Imams please note.
3. In spite of all these discussions, if the oppostion still persists, then what do we od? Confront them, leading to clash? Use wisdom and tackle the situation wisely?
4. This is the worst scenario. Can we distribute the value of animal among the people who has a share? I hope somebody will answer this question after takng into consideration the present circumstances.

Wahabist engaged in criminal activities in Sri Lanka
      Tue, 2007-09-04 03:23 — admin
      • News
Colombo, 04 August (Asiantribune.com): The rise of Wahabism in Sri Lanka and its links to criminal elements in the east of Sri Lanka are causing concern to mainstream Sri Lankan Muslims. Over the years, Wahabism has also grown into a militant organization in the east. Wahabists trained in Sri Lanka are sent to UK and Australia in the guise of students.
The Sri Lankan government too is concerned as this militant movement has international ramifications. It is a deviant cult not followed by the majority Muslims in the world and is bankrolled by foreign elements, according to informed Muslims. Wahabism emerging as a threat to Sri Lanka’s security – Alavi Moulana, Governor of Western Province
The publication of the initial report (See 28 August Militant Wahabism beats other Islamic fundamentalists in Sri Lanka)provoked an angry response from the Wahabists who launched a propaganda campaign against the Asian Tribune.
We published an edited version of the statement issued by A. Rahman of the British College of Applied Studies BCAS, Colombo, Sri Lanka who claims to be its chairman. In his statement he has stated, “I request the AT to contact the Kattankudy police to verify the facts I have referred to here regarding our campaign method and positive impacts we created.”
As requested, Asian Tribune contacted Kattankudy police and other neighboring police stations in Sri Lanka and also talked to many people not only in Kattankudy but in the adjacent villages and we decided to file our findings which are as follows:
The families of Rahman and Faleel ul Haq in the beginning were in dire financial straits. Even when both entered the Engineering faculty at the University of Peradeniya, according to reports from Kattankudy, their families’ financial condition was at rock bottom. It was during this time that Jamiya Naleemiya Islamic College (JNIC) recruited these two students into the Wahabist movement. Rahman and Faleel were recruited by Mansoor Osthathu of Kandy, a lecturer in JNIC in Beruwela. JNIC had established links through Dharul Akram, a Sri Lankan Muslim organization, with Ihwarmul Muslimeen founded by Egyptian Hassan al-Banna. The executive members of this organization are known as “Naleem people” – all of whom are students of JNIC.
This organization was in need of a few engineering brains. Rahman and Haque were enrolled into this organization by Mansoor Osthathu.
These two recruits provided the technical brains and they introduced modern information technology (IT) to Wahabists who were hitherto not familiar with IT.
The Wahabists then set up Masjidul Umer Shareff (Mosque) Socio Economic Educational Rehabilitation Association (SEERA), an NGO. Subsequently, a Youth Federation, a radical organization absorbing Police Fiaz militant wing, was formed. It came under the leadership of Rahman.
Fiaz in the beginning was a Jihadist who later was trained as a Home Guard. Faiz had his own armed wing. This group was responsible for the Killing of Moulavi Farook in 1998 on the orders of Aliyar ‘Riyaphi’ of Islamiya – Centre for Islamic guidance. Aliyar was a graduate from Al Medina University in Saudi Arabia, who was responsible in a big way for the spread of Wahabism in Kattankudy before Rahman took over the command. During this period Fiaz functioned as an ordinary member, engaged in contract killing.
In the meantime, under name of MFCD of the Dharul Akram, an NGO registered with the Social Services and Social Welfare Ministry, Wahabism began to spread its tentacles all over the island. In the Tsunami relief and rehabilitation operations, as well is in the ouster of Muslims from Muttur, this MFCD played a big role.
Unofficial reports indicate that Dharul Arkkam had a hand in the killing of the 15 Tamil workers from Action Fiam NGO on 05 August 2006. Except for one Abdul Latif Mohamed Jauffer (Male, Age 31) all the others killed were Tamils. The workers were trapped inside their Muthur branch office residence, located close to Muthur Cultural Centre. Investigations are proceeding on this aspect and this piece of information is yet to be conformed by Sri Lanka Government.
According to sources in Kattankudy, Abdul Rahman and Faleel ul Haq have been key Dharul Akram operators from the beginning. Furthermore, Abdul Rahman is known in Kattankudy as the leader of the Youth Federation.
Asian Tribune investigations also raised some unanswered questions about the Wahabists:
      1. What are the funding sources available to Rahman to roam around Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Australia and Arab Countries like a multi-millionaire?
      2. How was it possible for Abdul Rahman to own higher educational institutions, British College of Applied Studies in Dehiwela (Wellawatte, Colombo) as well as in Kandy? Who are the financiers behind this institution? If he was such a rich man did he ever declared his income to the Inland Revenue Department and is it possible for him to declare his income tax file number?
      3. Is it possible for this instant millionaire who was the founder of Muslim Information Centre now based in London to come up with the names of all those share holders of this educational institution, with details of the invested share capital?
      4. How was it possible for the Wahabist political organization, People’s Movement for Good Governance (PMGG) organized by Rahman to spend more than Rs. 5 million in the last local Government election held for the Urban Council of Kattankudy? Even though he spent such a big amount of money he only managed nearly 3000 votes to win two seats of the total of 9 seats.
Kattankudy people still remember the lavish spending of the PMGG and the colorful platforms and meetings they held during the local government elections.
      5. Rahman claims himself to be a peace-loving person, then why did he run Police Fiaz and few of his murderous gang members as candidates in the local government election for the Kattankudy Urban Council?
      6. What is the necessity for Rahman to patronize and safeguard Police Fiaz against whom there are more than 10 arrest warrants pending?
      7. Even in the Tsunami relief and rehabilitation committee headed by Rahman, Fiaz and his criminal armed gang were playing a leading role. Why?
      8. Fiaz gang was responsible for taking over by force all those relief items that were to go to the people, without going through the committee led by Rahman, and was handed to Rahman’s organization which were subsequently distributed to the activists of the organization.
      9. Wahabism claims to preach pure religious ideology and forbids luxurious way of life, prostitution, Western culture. If so what is the necessity for exporting students to UK and Australia, the two countries which are deemed to be anti-Islamic by the founders of Wahabism.
      10. To prove that they are true followers of pure Islam, they even went to the extent of reprimanding Dr. Rifaz, the MBBS qualified medical practitioner in Kattankuddy for accepting a dowry when he married. Then why was no action taken against Rahman by the Kattankudy Federation of Youth organization for defiling the very spirit of Wahabism by exporting to students to countries which are opposed by Wahabism?
